Use of GIS Technology for Emergency Preparedness and Response: Meteorological Forecasts in DRR planning

Most African countries are highly exposed to the effect of climate change. The best way to prevent natural disaster in our region is the management of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to solve technical problems through the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) the use of web-based data sources facilitates research on disaster management.

This is a 3 – 5 days training designed to enable participants to learn tools of disaster observations, forecasting systems, communication, data management, Hazard data bases, mapping and analysis and (meteorological, hydrological) elaborating and coordinating national to local DRR plans.
